Sour belts are a type of confectionery originating from the USA but they're also incredibly popular here in the UK. Sour Belt sweets come in many colours, flavours and combinations but they all share one thing in common; mouth-watering flavours that are sprinkled with a scrumptious sour sugar coating.
Why is it called a Sour Belt?
The origins of the term 'Sour Belt' are unknown, however, we're fairly sure the name derives from their appearance, which resembles a belt, and the fact that they deliver the sensation of 'sourness'!
